Welcome to Pony Sense Day Camp!

At Bar JO Ranch, we invite young pony and horse lovers (ages 5 to 7) to join us for an unforgettable five-day horseback adventure! Our camp runs weekly throughout July and August, with newly added Spring Break Camps in March and April.


Transportation

Campers are transported daily from Calgary and Cochrane, with convenient pick-up and drop-off locations at:

Central Memorial High School
  • Norma Bush Hockey Arena
  • Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre
  • Cochrane High School

Self-transportation is allowed, but registration fees remain the same. Camp hours are 10am to 3pm.

What Your Child Will Learn

Each weekly session emphasizes safety, fundamental riding skills, and common-sense pony and horse interaction. Campers will gain hands-on experience in:

  • ✔ Proper techniques for tying, grooming, and saddling a pony and horse
    ✔ How to mount, steer, and stop a pony and horse safely
    ✔ Arena exercises
    ✔ Games on horseback
    ✔ Riding drills
    ✔ Groundwork activities
    ✔ Gymkhana races
    ✔ Mini assisted trail rides around the ranch
