8-18 Aged Horse Riding Camp

Welcome to Horse Sense Day Camp at Bar JO Ranch!

Join us for an exciting 5-day horseback adventure designed for horse and pony enthusiasts aged 8 to 18.

🚨 Important: Participants must be at least 8 years old on the first day of camp—no exceptions due to insurance regulations.

Campers are transported daily from Calgary and surrounding areas, with convenient pick-up and drop-off locations at:

Central Memorial High School
Norma Bush Hockey Arena
Bearspaw Lifestyle Centre
Cochrane High School

Self-transportation is allowed, but registration fees remain the same.

All campers must bring a packed lunch from home. Prepackaged snacks and drinks (candy, chips, pop, water) will be available for purchase.

Ages 8–18 years: $750

Upon arrival, participants are grouped by age, size, and skill level—from novice to advanced. Camp activities focus on safety, riding fundamentals, and horse care, ensuring a well-rounded experience.

Daily Activities Include:

Arena exercises
Games on horseback
Riding drills
Groundwork activities
Gymkhana races
Scenic trail rides on our 320-acre ranch

Each camper is assigned their own horse for the session, creating a unique opportunity to build a bond with their animal. They may also bring carrots or apples from home to treat their horse or pony.

By the end of camp, riders gain confidence, control, and balance at their respective skill levels.

Payment Options

You must pay the non-refundable deposit fee of $210.00 during registration.
Balance for 5-day Summer Camp: $577.50 — due May 1st.
Balance for 5-day Spring Camp: $380.63 — due prior to camp (March and April sessions only).
Balance payments can be made via e-transfer to info@barjo.ca — please indicate your child’s last name in the transfer notes.
